Beaver Becomes A Leader To Over 150 Cattle, It’s Unexpected But Hilarious

Cattle are curious animals and smart too. If you live in areas filled with a lot of bovine, such as Wyoming as I do where cattle outnumber people, you have been followed by a herd of several hundred cattle at least a few times in your life.

In addition,  to being naturally curious, they also have much different eyesight than humans. They have what is called panoramic vision which means they can see 300 degrees without moving their heads due to the placement of their eyes, a much wider range than humans have.  But with this great range, they also have poor depth perception so they need to get very close to see and investigate something.

With keeping all this in mind, it’s no wonder this beaver in Canada was able to lead a herd of 150 head of cattle. It was an unusual sight to see, and chances are the beaver was the most bewildered of all.

Rancher Adrienne Ivey was who first came onto the peculiar scene. She decided to get it on film for all to enjoy. “When we first saw this we knew that people would get a great chuckle out of it.  You cannot get more Canadian than that. We talk about how awesome our Canadian beef is, but a beaver leading cattle around? It’s the most Canadian thing ever!”

Cows are curious however they are still protective and careful to not get too far into a dangerous situation.  “There was about a 3-foot space around him” Ivey reports. “They didn’t want to get closer than that.”
