A young child who grows up with a loving family dog is one blessed baby for sure. A dog can be a best friend to play with. A dog can also be a listening ear when the child has a bad moment or gets hurt. A gentle nudge of the nose, or kiss on the face when a child experiences an owie can do wonders. A dog’s love can even help more than an adult explaining to the child that it will be ok. One mom got to enjoy seeing how her little one was bonding with the family dog by sneaking up on some adorable playtime that was happening.
The family dog, Pumpkin, is a 7-year-old Shetland Sheepdog. She was a part of the family before her human parents had a baby. Pumpkin’s parents had no doubt that she would be great with the new family addition. And oh how right they were.
In a YouTube video that Pumpkin’s mom shared, she recalled the precious and funny moment she witnessed one day when Pumpkin was entertaining her child.
She said, “I managed to not laugh hysterically while taping it, it had already been going on for a good 5 minutes before I even managed to find the camera so I had already gotten my laughter out. ? That’s not to say that I wasn’t still laughing but at least I could control it at that point.”
