Meet Tucker, he may look a little different from any other dog you have seen. But this 3-year-old mixed breed rescue dog is a special little pup. Tucker lives with MPS VI, a mucopolysaccharide disease. A disease that causes deformities and physical abnormalities like an enlarged tongue and dwarfism. Because of these flaws, he looks more like a bat than a dog.
Tucker isn’t completely blind, but he has a cloudiness in his eyes that makes it hard for him to make out certain details of objects. You can usually catch him wearing his special goggles that protect his eyes.
His front paws are deformed so when he walks he looks like he’s doing an army crawl. Don’t worry that doesn’t stop him from going and doing things that other dogs do normally.
Tucker may look and walk a little different, but he’s the happiest little pup around. His disease has never stopped him from living life to the fullest. He even likes heckling the mailman with playful barks.
… and is proving to everyone that having special needs is SO not a big deal. He can still do anything he sets his mind to, and he’ll never
