Any adult that have children, must watch their actions closely. Young people like to copy what the adults around them do. This is what keeps most of us from cursing around them. While we are well aware of the fact that kids will mimic our activities, there are animals who have this ability as well. Even a baby elephant likes to get in on the copycat act.
Suki, a little baby elephant, recently decided that she was going to do what the humans do. She resides at the Chai Lai Orchid. She happens to be the baby of the crew. The sanctuary provides animals, like Suki, with the chance to live their lives in the manner that they are supposed to. Her human helpers have created an environment where she can be her best self.

The joy that Suki is experiencing is infectious! Try watching this clip without breaking into a huge smile! When the video opens, we see a man who is continuously sliding on the wet grass.
Suki enjoys what she sees, and is very impressed by this man’s maneuver. She decides she needs to get in on this act. Soon, Suki starts doing a slide of her own. You can clearly see the joy she has as she makes a little toot-toot. Suki’s mother, on the other hand, does not seem to like it too much. Witness her infectious joy below.
You can hear the elephant yell at little Suki each time she stops working after finishing each slide.
Enjoying life to the fullest while Mom fusses
We can all relate to moments like this. Wanting to laugh and play while Mom or Dad sternly looks on. The sight of Suki and the keeper – laughing and playing together – is enough to make anyone smile. Suki is one the most charming animals that we have ever seen.
“This is the newest baby who was born here and her name is Suki. We’re located in Chiang Mai, Thailand. You can support our mission and visit Suki and her family and live with the elephants at our eco-lodge. No humans were harmed in the making of this video.”
Little Suki is definitely fond of her human company and does all she can to play along with them. Who wouldn’t want to watch a baby elephant enjoy life jumping in puddles?
