What started out like any other typical day for one homeowner in Australia, quickly took a turn for the worse before he even got into his car. Recently, a man, who wished to stay anonymous, walked into his garage to leave for work like he had done a thousand times before. However, unlike those other times, this time something felt a little off.

It didn’t take long at all for the lone man to realize why it felt like something was watching him, that’s for sure.

LOOK UP!

You see, all the man had to do was glance up. The second he did, he realized he had some serioussssly large company sharing his garage.

You see, directly above the man, waiting patiently in an overhead cabinet, was a 6-foot-long coastal carpet python. The gentle snake was chilling out in the rafters, undoubtedly wondering what was wrong with that strange man who was suddenly terrified.

As you can see in the photo, the snake merely pressed her face over the edge of the rafter as if to say, “good morning, strange and shaking human.”

TO THE RESCUE

So, we have a man alone in his garage with a massive snake that just popped into view. Suddenly, the Australian was no longer interested in attempting to get into his car. He was only interested in one thing: getting as far away from that snake as possible.

So, rather than getting in his car and going to work, as usual, the man got on the phone. He called Stewy Lalor from Elite Snake Catching Services. Meanwhile, the python just hung out where she was, surely wondering why there was so much excitement all of a sudden.

There is a very good reason for the snake’s confusion, remember we’re talking about Australia.

NOTHING TO FEAR

You see, as Lalor, the snake catcher pointed out, snakes like these pose no threat to humans. Yes, we can all agree, especially as Americans, that she sure looks scary enough. It ends there, though, she is entirely non-venomous. Unless you are a rat or a mouse, this snake will not harm you.

“He was about to head off to work but couldn’t get into his car,” Lalor explained, adding that this type of intervention usually isn’t necessary. “A big part of what we do is education. If we can’t get around relocating them, we will but if someone has a bad phobia we will come get it.”

In the end, Lalor did deal with the phobic man’s snake “problem.” He rehoused the harmless python in a location where she is unlikely to scare anyone else.

So, what did we learn today? Well, we learned that if you live in Australia, it’s advisable to “get used to” having a six-foot python hanging out in your garage. We also learned, though, that if you are just too afraid of them to get into your car, someone can come and help you out.

So, what do you think? How would you feel if this lady was hanging out in your garage? Tell us about it in the comments.
